Dear Readers,
I hope you all are safe and keeping healthy in the worst of times our recent generations have seen.
CoronaVirus or Covid-19 has been declared as one of the worst pandemics that has hit the humanity. The number of infected patients are growing at a rapid rate. Over 5.86M+ cases worldwide and by the time you’d be reading it, the scale would have already added more number to the tally of infected patients including the ones recovered and died.
It has taken over the entire planet with a lot of economies coming to a standstill by introducing the curfew and nationwide quarantines.
On one end where the blow to the economic conditions will be felt in a long run but the situation due to the Covid-19 has arrived as a boon to the global climate space.
Irrespective of the location, the AQI (Air Quality Index) has improved considerably. The water in the rivers in India when tested after a month of quarantining turned out to be drinkable. River Yamuna, Ganga and many others around the world which turned into waste decomposing lands have converted into the blissful and life giving rivers they once were.
Here’s a quick sneak-peek into the images for the initial part of the year when the world started to come at a standstill due to nationwide lockdowns getting implemented:
To maintain and retain the sanctity in environment, all of us can do something. Here’s how you can contribute:
Climate Change – “Why, How and Things you can do to save the planet”
Like the nature breathed a sigh post a heavy exhaustion by the Earthlings activities, the homo sapiens did get some break to re-think about life and their future course of requirements. Some were living so materialistically that they found the sudden closures to be very abrupt.
To come to terms with the life within the confinement of boundaries of your home is difficult if you always look out to escape.
For some it was a much needed relief from the work, for some it was a home vacation, while some sorted out their future goals. This is how it has been for the people who could afford such days, for the ones who couldn’t, the state has been downright pathetic with a lot of stranded migrants to cities trying to return to their native places in India with a few of them losing their lives in the dearth of food, shelter and permissions.
Few more images to help you understand the perspective better:
State of Poor in Lockdown in India
Endless walks towards their native places. There’s virtually no count of how many would have started their journey back home and how many of them would have reached safely. While they were on the road, the governments didn’t do much other than categorically blaming one or the other for the mismanagement. However, there were NGOs, people, organizations who did come forward and served as ‘messiah’ to the innocent souls.
I’ve talked about a similar situation in the previous post. Refer below to a quick snapshot:

State of Lockdown in other countries around the Globe
The list is pretty long and the state of less privileged is the most affected.
The other curse is the job market which is showing no chances of recovery with job losses running into millions.
Read a bit more here:
27 Million youth in India in age group 20-30 years lost jobs in April – CMIE
CMIE is the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy who is responsible for mapping the country’s economic conditions.
How coronavirus has hit employment in G7 economies
3 million more US layoffs due to Covid-19 pandemic intensify fears of lasting damage
ILO raises global job loss forecast to 305M amid virus
The numbers are shocking and it’s not a surprise to anyone. The dwindling economies have become a ‘Titanic‘ with the usual survivors in rich and the ever hustling groups from the middle and the poor class. The rest are heading towards a state of no return.
After a series of multiple lockdowns, the governments all across the world have finally requested the people to be sensible and don’t go out unless absolutely necessary and has eased the norms.
On the contrary, as soon as the rules were relaxed, we could see a direct spike in the number of cases in some countries where the cases are increasing at a much faster rate in comparison to the other countries which observed the spike initially like the USA, Italy, Germany and other EU countries.. See the below graphs yourself:
There’s almost a similar story for countries like Mexico, Pakistan, Qatar, Bangladesh, UAE, South Africa, Colombia, Indonesia, Egypt, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Oman, Armenia, Bolivia and more…
There are more curse or cons that the virus has brought with itself. But weighing it with the benefit of the nature, it doesn’t seem to be less than a blessing either. But, stop right there if you think that the nature is not being harmed at all.
Amazon is still reported to be cut down with much ease due to restrictions in Brazil, similar story with forests in Bolivia, in Western Ghats in Maharasthra and Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh in India, Indonesia, China and other forests with good green cover around the world.

Things seems to be plain but disguises in hindsight. Unless the global populations start exercising their rights, ask the right questions and elect the right people, the world will continue to be sucked off its glory and much deserved attention. The time is now for the people to rise!
